Iran’s Return Won’t Spoil Push To $80 Oil | #Business

Iran’s Return Won’t Spoil Push To $80 Oil

A nuclear deal between the United States and Iran could tap the brakes on rising global oil prices. While there’s disagreement among analysts on how the market would react, an end to U.S. sanctions would put up to 4 million Iranian barrels of oil a day on the market.

Ongoing negotiations in Vienna have raised the possibility that the Biden administration could renew the nuclear deal much sooner than experts anticipated. Defying widespread predictions that nothing would happen before Iran’s presidential elections on June 18, the White House has worked rapidly to reach a deal to restore the 2015 agreement that former President Donald Trump withdrew from in 2018.

Global benchmark Brent crude wobbled significantly last week as a result of the negotiations. Prices fell $3 to $65 a barrel, while U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropped to $62 a barrel. But after having more time to analyze the market, oil traders this week aren’t viewing Iran’s potential return as such a threat. Brent is back above $70 and WTI is hovering just below the $70 level in a show of faith for the growing demand surge occurring as countries loosen pandemic restrictions.

The gradual return of Iranian exports aren’t likely to upset global oil balances given the rapid pace of recovering demand. Iran’s crude exports now average around 900,000 barrels a day, which is about 1.6 million barrels a day below the 2.5 million barrels a day Tehran was shipping before Trump imposed tough sanctions.

With the economic impact of Covid-19, Iran wants to sever its economic isolation and restore oil exports as fast as possible. The Biden administration hasn’t acted on Iran’s crude exports edging higher as they seek to strike a nuclear deal. In fact, Iran is already planning to increase exports from its Jask terminal in June.

Iran’s output has been near 2.6 million barrels a day recently. That said, experts don’t see Iranian production hitting 4 million barrels a day until the first half of 2022, even if a deal is reached soon. It will take time for Washington to unwind some sanctions, and for Iran’s former customers to feel comfortable with the risk of importing Iranian oil. The vast web of U.S. sanctions imposed by the Trump administration was deliberately complex, and importers won’t touch Iranian oil until they are certain they are in full compliance with U.S. laws and regulations.

As for Iranian exports, if a deal is reached before Iran’s elections June 18, it is possible they could rise by 350,000 barrels a day by August, and another 650,000 barrels a day by early 2022.

Demand recovery should be more than strong enough to absorb any impact from rising Iran output, while the OPEC-plus alliance of producers remains committed to price-supportive supply cuts to support higher prices.

The International Energy Agency (IEA), the Paris-based energy watchdog for developed economies, is not worried about Iran either. In its latest monthly oil report, it states that “the anticipated supply growth through the rest of this year comes nowhere close to matching our forecast for significantly stronger demand beyond the second quarter.”

That puts the global oil market in a supply deficit with OPEC and its partner countries, led by Russia, deciding to hold the line on production at its meeting last week. Returning demand continues to be a bigger drain on crude inventories, which have already reached near pre-pandemic levels

As vaccination rates rise and mobility restrictions ease, global oil demand is set to soar from 93.1 million barrels a day in the first quarter to 99.6 million barrels a day by year-end, the IEA predicts. That would put demand near its pre-pandemic high of 100.2 million barrels a day in late 2019, making the oil market’s recovery virtually complete — and making a mockery of some forecasts saying demand would never return to 2019 levels again.

The gradual addition of about 1.5 million barrels a day of Iranian exports over the next year or so won’t wreck that scenario. In fact, given weak investment levels in new oil projects outside OPEC over the past few years, Iran’s volumes could be needed in 2022, when some experts see demand rising by another 2.5 million barrels a day. Such demand growth could rapidly deplete OPEC’s currently robust spare capacity cushion, which is why Goldman Sachs

GS
does not see Iran as a threat to its prediction that Brent will hit $80 by the fourth quarter

Iran is simply no match for pent-up demand.

Why The Striker Is Belgium’s Talisman | #Business

Why The Striker Is Belgium’s Talisman

On a night when soccer seemed to matter a little less and Russians vehemently booed Belgium taking the knee, Romelu Lukaku demonstrated why he will be Belgium’s standout star at Euro 2020. In a rich vein of form, ‘Big Rom’ has no time to waste and wants to deliver silverware for Belgium’s golden generation.

After ten minutes he capitalized on meek defending by the hosts and dragged an instant shot on the turn past a hapless Anton Shunin. When the cross from Dries Mertens came in, Belgium’s number nine had been in an offside position, but Semenov’s touch meant a new phase in place commenced. Above all, Lukaku demonstrated his lethal instinct as one of the world’s best strikers.

In the absence of both Eden Hazard, perennial struggler with injuries at Real Madrid, and Kevin De Bruyne, victim of Antonio Rudiger’s obstruction in the Champions League final, Lukaku however has become so much more than simply a fine centre forward. The Inter striker is Belgium’s undisputed leader at these finals, having come a long way since his national team debut in 2010 at the age of 17 under then coach George Leekens when Belgium was in the midst of a generational transition and he netted twice in a friendly against Russia.

In his first 20 matches for Belgium, he would go on to score just three goals, far from convincing stats, but above all his somewhat clumsy style with a heavy first touch irked the majority of Belgian fans.

That debate rumbled on for years, even when Lukaku signed for Manchester United from Everton in a £75 million move and subsequently failed to convince. In the Premier League, the Belgian was perceived as a flat-track bully and an incomplete striker. Lukaku again stood accused of a heavy first touch, poor positioning and, at times, a profligacy in front of the goalmouth. As a result, he seemingly never convinced in his position and drew excessive criticism.

However, it didn’t bother him. On the eve on the World Cup in Russia, Lukaku said that he had little or no competition in the national team. He wasn’t bluffing either. He became Belgium’s all-time record goal scorer. His all-round game improved as well, not least because Inter coach Antonio Conte has allowed him to play on the front foot and built his team around the Belgian. Today, Lukaku is among the five best strikers in the world.

Roberto Martinez has constantly praised Lukaku as a top class striker, but believes that the number nine can develop and improve even more. Does he need to? Teams across Europe and beyond fear him.

Against Russia, Lukaku’s versatility and intelligence were apparent. He dropped deep, drifted to the right, dribbled and, generally, tormented his opponents. The Russians were restricted to long balls in the direction of Artem Dzyuba and half chances, sending the partisan fans in the stands into a short frenzy, but they could never match Lukaku and his team.

Substitute Thomas Meunier built on Lukaku’s early goal and Belgium never really needed to accelerate against a poor Russia in a match that allowed the ‘Red Devils’ to ease their way into the tournament in perfect style. The second half descended into a simple training exercise for Martinez’s team, controlling possession to protect the lead. As the match petered out, Lukaku completed the 3-0 victory, outpacing Semonov to drive a low right-foot shot past Shunin at the near post.

At the final whistle, Lukaku kneeled and prayed to the Gods. He had done everything right in Saint Petersburg: he fought racism, supported his friend Christian Eriksen with the words ‘Chris, I love you’ and underlined that he is Belgium’s most indispensable player with a brace. Lukaku proved a point: he is at Euro 2020 to win it.

A Day in the Life of a Video Editing Professional | #Business

Video editing process

Video editing is an attractive job for someone who loves movies and the ability to express themselves through video. Whether you want to create commercials, your own Youtube videos, or anything else in this industry, you’ll need to have a few baseline skills that will make you a more attractive candidate.

In today’s guide, we’ll go over some of the responsibilities that video editors have and we’ll also discuss some of the skills that you’ll need to excel in this field. Beyond that, we’ll also go over how you can make your transition into professional video editing smoother and discuss the value of a video editing degree compared to experience.

photo credit: Kelly Lacy / Pexels

What Does a Video Editor Do?

As the term “video editing” would suggest, you edit videos, but to put it in more detailed terms, you’re tasked with working with video clips and stringing them together. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you’ll only need to edit video, however, as you’ll also need to be skilled at working with audio tracks.

Since audio and video go hand in hand, you’ll need to be able to produce advanced projects that combine music and other sound with the video clips that you edit in. Other than working with audio, you’re also expected to understand more advanced features and systems like motion tracking.

Motion tracking allows you to create composite scenes without making the camerawork look fake, and it’s a skill that’s in high demand with the next generation of video editors. While it may not be a simple drag and drop, motion tracking is a skill that will serve you well in the industry, so it’ll be worth learning.

You’ll also have to learn how to use the chroma key, ensuring that your footage has the right color balance for the kind of effects that you’re trying to create in your movie. The exact way that you edit the color key of your footage depends on the formats that you’re using and the tools at your disposal.

Key Skills That a Video Editor Should Possess

One of the most essential parts of stringing together video and audio into something that people will appreciate is the ability to edit the video while seeing it through your audience’s eyes. You need to be able to tell a story through your skills as a video editor, because that’s what you are, a storyteller.

Don’t limit yourself to the Windows-Mac ecosystems, as you may also benefit from the ability to edit videos on the fly using mobile operating systems. While a video editing app may be a little less powerful than desktop programs, the ability to make slight edits no matter where you are may be crucial, even if it’s a small correction.

Multi-platform and cross-platform video editors are also in high demand, as some businesses may use Windows while others use Apple iMovie. Also, learn how to integrate features like screen recording, which will allow you to create things like tutorials and game footage.

Getting into the Video Editing Field by Learning Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X

The kind of video editing software you use will determine how attractive of a hire you’ll become, as we discussed in the previous section. Someone who can operate within a wide range of ecosystems like Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro will turn potential employers’ heads.

While the time of Windows Movie Maker is long gone, there are other simpler editing programs that you can use like Pinnacle Studio. The good thing is that most video editors are relatively similar to each other in basic operation, featuring a timeline where you can drag and drop to edit video.

If you’re trying to get more experience working with these programs, you have a few choices, but we’d recommend exploring them yourself for a little while. Once you’re comfortable with the basics, you can move on to subscribing to a class or working with a mentor who knows the programs intimately.

A Degree vs. Experience in the Field

Many people looking to get into video editing wonder whether they should focus on getting a degree in video editing or if they should jump right into the field. Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer to this question, as it depends on your skills working with various programs and the opportunities that you have available.

If you have an easy job as a video editor and you haven’t attended college, you should probably pursue that opportunity, especially if you know what you’re doing. This is because video editing experience is highly valued in the field.

On the other hand, going to college for video editing will likely get you a higher starting salary, as you’ll be seen as already having proved yourself to a certain extent.

Watch Nate Diaz Defeat Anthony Pettis

Nate Diaz had not fought for nearly three years when he stepped into the octagon to meet former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in a welterweight matchup. The scrap served as the co-main event of UFC 241. Pettis had fought seven times since Diaz’s most recent bout. The ex-champ was 4-3 in those contests.

Diaz’s previous fight was an August 2016 majority decision loss to Conor McGregor. The setback was a rematch. Diaz won the first meeting between the two, scoring a submission win over the former two-division champion in March 2016.

While Diaz figured out his next step, Pettis stayed busy but had an up and down run. He dropped to featherweight in late August 2016 and won his first bout at 145 pounds with a submission victory over Charles Oliveira. Pettis was then set to fight for the interim 145-pound title, but he came in overweight for a contest he would go on to lose to Max Holloway via a third-round TKO.

In July 2017, Pettis moved back to lightweight and defeated Jim Miller by decision. He then went 1-2 before he decided to head to welterweight. In March 2019, Pettis knocked out former two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson with a come from behind knockout. That victory set him up for a battle with Diaz.

Pettis, who was the No. 7 ranked welterweight at the time, was the slight favorite heading into the 170-pound contest.

Despite being the underdog and the long time between fights, Diaz dominated the contest for almost the entire 15 minutes. Diaz landed 205 total strikes to Pettis’ 86 strikes. When the scores were read, Diaz won 30-27 on two cards and 29-28 on the third.

Diaz lost his next fight, which was against Jorge Masvidal, by doctor stoppage. Diaz has not fought since that November 2019 setback. On Saturday he steps back into the octagon to face No. 3 ranked welterweight Leon Edwards.

Before that fight takes place, watch Diaz defeat Pettis.

UFC 263 takes place on June 12 at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+ and early prelims on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass.

Hybrid workforce working with laptop on the couch

A hybrid work from home model allows some employees to work from home while others work from the office. Working with a remote team requires strategic planning and technology to keep all the employees connected. Through technology, remote staff can stay connected through chat, video, and voice communication channels.

Hybrid work is especially beneficial for small businesses for the following reasons:

  • It’s easier to bring back a smaller number of employees safely back to work and ensure they follow safety procedures.
  • It may be easier to maintain communication and access between leadership teams and employees with smaller leadership teams.
  • It allows employees to be flexible and swiftly pivot to a new process or approach when necessary.

Benefits of Hybrid Work Model

1. Cut costs

One of the most significant advantages of the hybrid approach for small enterprises is cost reduction. Companies can save money by opening smaller offices in more cost-effective places or going entirely remote by eliminating the need for a vast corporate headquarters.

2. Enhances employee satisfaction

Employees now have a higher quality of life since they may live in more affordable areas, avoid long commutes, and have work hours that are more flexible to match their schedules.

3. Accommodates people with disabilities

The hybrid work model gives remote workers with disabilities the chance to work comfortably.

4. Decreases exposure to health risks

With fewer in-house personnel, your organization may be able to reduce the transmission of colds, the flu, or COVID-19, thus resulting in fewer sick days.

5. Raises productivity

With this work model, employees working remotely can work to their strengths. You’ll be able to give team members who need to concentrate quietly at home and those who flourish in a community office environment the freedom to work where and when they want.

6. Open to talent from across the globe

You’ll establish a staff with extraordinary capabilities if you open openings to worldwide candidates.

American West Faces Wildfires And Water Shortages As Climate Change Amplifies Drought

Topline

Arizona and Nevada are facing water shortages this year as Lake Mead, the country’s largest reservoir, falls to its lowest ever level, with large swathes of the American west facing an increased risk of wildfires amid soaring temperatures and prolonged, severe drought, conditions that are amplified by rising temperatures and human-driven climate change.

Key Facts

Water levels at Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the U.S. and a major water source for some 25 million people, sunk to the lowest levels since it was created by the Hoover Dam in the 1930s, officials announced Thursday.

75% of the American west is experiencing severe drought—more than a quarter of this considered to be the highest level, “exceptional”—according to the U.S. drought monitor, adding to a long-running “megadrought” that has afflicted the region since the turn of the millennium.

Experts believe rising temperatures due to climate change are exacerbating the drying and contributing to heatwaves, creating the kind of conditions where it is hard to recover from drought conditions.

The conditions point to another above-normal risk of fire for the region, according to the National Interagency Fire Center and experts, a grim prospect after the worst fire season on record.

The dry conditions are leading farmers in the region to reconsider their crops and warn of food scarcity and higher prices, with some crops needing more water than is available in the arid conditions.

Key Background

While drought and dry weather occur and vary naturally in the region, the increasing temperatures pushing the American west over the edge are human in origin and make the conditions more likely to occur. Scientists report the current drought to be one of the worst in the west in 1,200 years, something they attributed to human-driven climate change. According to experts, climate change has also made it more likely that any wildfires will be bigger and more intense.

Surprising Fact

Utah Governor Spencer Cox asked Utahns to pray for rain in early June after he had declared a state of emergency over the arid conditions in May. Cox said “divine intervention” was needed because “we need more rain and we need it now.”

5 Ways to Guest Post for Brand Awareness. Expert Tips From Gawdo.com | #Business

Published

on

By

Influencer and blogger writing blog post

Guest Blogging has become a great tool to build brand awareness. It helps your Brand is seen and heard through guest blogging, which is a unique way of linking with existing and potential customers.

The guest blogger should be an active contributor to the community; he or she must be engaged in the local community and be able to build relationships and credibility. The guest post should build social media links and backlinks for your website and help you build a better online visibility.

Facebook and twitter have taken blogging to a different level altogether, and for businesses this can be a great opportunity to share information with your audience while building brand awareness. Guest blogging gives your readers a taste of what is can offer, but for brands it is vital that the content you publish on your blog is relevant and useful to your audience.

Guest blogging is a great opportunity for brands and can really help in building customer loyalty and drive traffic to your website.

Many people consider social media platforms as ‘noise’, and rightly so! However, for businesses seeking to promote their brand awareness, the use of social networks can be a benefit, especially when used in conjunction with the other online advertising tools available. Gawdo.com is an organization that can provide expert advice on using social media to market your business effectively. However, just like any other advisor, an influencer should be a good source of information, and not simply a mouthpiece for you to spout your line or promote your company. While the influencers might work for you, your reputation depends on them being objective and working solely for you.

Business blogger blogging

As mentioned before, guest blogging helps in building brand awareness amongst your target audience. The content should be relevant to the product, and it needs to demonstrate the benefits of your product to help build brand awareness. Guest blogging can also help you build relationships with other bloggers in your niche. This is a great way of building a network of knowledge and support, which can be the difference between success and failure.

If you own a blog, then guest posting for other blogs can also be beneficial. You build links to your own blog, and this traffic can be directed towards your site. A popular social media platform for this is Twitter, and the blogger’s followers can be targeted to your site through this method. In order to build brand awareness, blogs need to be relevant to your target audience.

For companies who have a smaller budget, social media marketing can be a cheaper option, and can be even more effective. By using social media sites such as Facebook, you can set up an attractive page that relates to your brand and/or product. This page can be promoted regularly, and visitors can be directed to your site for further details.

Influencer marketing

Influencers are another way to build brand awareness. Look for influencers in your industry who you can contact and request they make posts about your company on their page. They will be happy to do this as it allows them to receive free exposure. These posts will appear on their wall, and if a visitor wants to see more, they can click on the link and be taken directly to your website. However, these influencers tend to work on smaller brands, and not large multinational companies, so it may be difficult to target them.

Another good way of targeting small businesses is by using Pinterest, and Instagram. Pinterest is a popular social media site where people can add and share pictures. It is perfect for small business owners as it allows them to reach potential customers and build brand awareness among the target audience. The same goes for Instagram, an Instagram influencer can easily post high-quality images from their personal camera, and then direct visitors to their website.
